How To Get Rid Of err_Cache_Miss Error on Google Chrome

There are many occasions that Google Chrome returns the “err_cache_miss.” Many users have been wondering why they tend to receive this error when surfing and what it means. In a nutshell, when you bump into this error, it means that the Google Chrome browser is not in a position to get the cached copy of the page that you are trying to access.

err_Cache_Miss main image

The error often pops up on the default browser page, and on some occasions, it has also been seen in the developer tools section.

Well, in this piece, we will discuss how you can go ahead and fix the err_cache_miss error in Chrome. There are several ways, and therefore if you try the first fix and it doesn’t seem to work, just move on and try the next one.

Without wasting much time, let us handle this issue once and for all.

Fix 1: Resubmit Form Data

There is nothing more important when surfing the internet than. This is the main reason why developers have come up with caching tools and plugins for websites. For you to be able to improve the speed of the web server and computer, including the browser, you will have to cache the elements of the webpage.

Usually, the cached content is essential when querying sites. Cached content is generally used to display pages very fast when you next open the same site.

This process may look simple, but in reality, what happens behind the scenes is complex.

Even though this process happens automatically, there are dynamic elements of the webpages that never get cached. Some of these elements are forms.

Google Chrome has this behavior of not caching the form of content when you fill them.

It is rare to find Google Chrome browser caching payment form details such as credit card and password. This is not usually a mistake or some kind of bug. Such details are not cached because of security reasons.

Now, this is where you get the error in question. Many factors can affect the submission of a form. Some of them can be things like poor Internet connection and unavailability of the server. When a form fails to submit, and you hit the back button on Chrome, the next thing you will see is the err_cache_miss error.

That happens because the cached content of that particular form is not available with Chrome.

So what should you do?

It is pretty simple, just tabulate the form and resubmit it. This is the trick.

Fix 2: Stop Accessing the Webpage from the Bookmarks

Many people don’t really know that you can get this error when you try to access the site from the bookmarks.

If you see the err_cache_miss error, the first thing you should do is to make sure that you are not trying to access that particular web page from bookmarks.

Here is why;

When you find that the bookmarked URL is unavailable, the possible reason for this is that Google Chrome might have overwritten the cache with another unavailable response.

If that is the case, then what the browser can do is simple: to show the cache_miss_error.

So, what are you supposed to do if you find yourself in such a mess?

Well, for that case, just copy the URL that is saved in the bookmarks and then open a new tab. Paste the URL in the search bar and hit Enter, and this should fix the issue.

If the webpage loads successfully, it means that the site administrator might have redirected the URL to a new page.

Therefore, go ahead and replace the URL of the bookmarked page with the new one.

Fix 3: Opening a Cached Page

Opening a cached page that is not available can also result in this error. Therefore, before you start panicking, ask yourself, are you trying to access a cached copy of a webpage?

You should know that when the webpage is not available online, Chrome will fetch the cached copy of that particular page. If it fails to find a copy of that specific page in the browser’s cache, then it will return the “err_cache_miss” error.

If this is the case, you don’t have any other option. You are totally powerless, and there is nothing you or I can do about it.

The best way is usually to wait patiently until the webpage is available online and try again accessing it.

Fix 4: Missing Website Cache

As we said at the start of this post, browsers usually cache websites at multiple levels to speed up the loading time.

There are many tools that the site administrators or owners use to achieve this. Some site owners use server caching while others use caching plugins and CDNs (content delivery networks) to cache and serve their content.

This is usually so that caching related errors can be displayed when these sites are under maintenance or maybe they are doing an update.

If you, therefore, run into this error and you are sure that there is no problem with you internet provider, copy the URL of that particular site and open it in other network or using a different browser.

If the problem persists, wait for some time and try again.

Fix 5: Clear Chrome Cache

Well, clearing the cache and refreshing the webpage could do the trick in fixing the error.

Please note that a corrupted browser cache can bring about the “err_cache_miss” error. Deleting all browsing history can help resolve it.

If the browser cache is corrupt and you don delete it, you will wait for ages for the site to restore.

Follow the instructions below to clear the browser cache in Google Chrome.

  1. Hit Ctrl + Shift + Delete on the keyboard in Windows OS or Command + Shift + Delete in Mac Chrome. Doing this will open the “Clear browsing data” window/ dialogue box.
  2. Under the “Basic” tab, select the time range for the cache data you want to delete as “All time.” Check-mark the cookies and cache data checkboxes.
  3. Afterward, click on the “Clear Data” button in order to delete all the cached data and saved cookies.
  1. When the process completes, close all the tabs and restart your browser.
  2. Try browsing the site again to see whether the website is now accessible.

Fix 6: Flush DNS Cache

Several people have reported that this error occurred due to some poor or wrong configurations in the network settings or DNS.

We found out that if you reset the network settings and then flush the DNS, you can be able to resolve this issue together with many other Chrome related issues.

To flush the DNS cache, keenly follow the instructions in this article. The instructions there should help you fix the issue on both Windows 10 and Mac.

After you successfully flush the DNS, simply restart Chrome and check whether the problem has been resolved.

Fix 7: Disable Chrome extensions

However, good and useful Chrome extensions can be, they can cause a whole bunch of errors to the browser.

I remember one day waiting for a Twitter pop up so that I could log in to my account and share the post, and it never did. I waited for a whole day, and when I went back to retry, I saw a message that pop-ups had been blocked. I narrowed down until I found out that a certain extension was responsible for all these troubles. After disabling it, things went back to normal.

What do I mean, many users have dozens of these extensions installed in Chrome web browser. They are not bad. Yes, they help you carry out some tasks with ease, but one or more of those extensions could cause some issues, and one of them is err_cache_miss error.

It can be such a tedious work to find the exact extension that may cause an error, especially if you have over 100 of them. The best thing is to disable them all and see if the error will be fixed.

Fortunately, disabling or removing an extension is easy.

Follow these steps:

  1. Go to the command URL “chrome://extensions/.”
  2. Identify extensions that you install before err_cache_miss error first appeared.
  3. Turn off all the installed extensions.
  4. Restart the browser and check whether the problem has been resolved.
disable the extensions -err_Cache_Miss

If you were able to fix the problem is then the remaining task is easy. Go ahead and enable the extensions one by one in order to narrow down the problematic one.

After identifying the culprit, delete it from Chrome by clicking the remove button.

Afterward, you can search the web for an alternative extension that offers the same features.

Fix 8: Reset Chrome

If you have been using Chrome for quite some time now or for years without updating it, it may start to build up various issues.

Resetting the browser can just do the trick and restore it to its original online experience.

To reset Google Chrome, follow the instructions below.

  1. First of all, make sure that Google Chrome is running
  2. Now tap on the three dots in the top-right corner. Head over to settings and then choose the reset option. Alternatively, you can just navigate to this link “chrome://settings/reset” and later on click on the “Reset” option.
reset chrome
  1. A pop up will appear asking you to confirm the operation. Simply confirm the pop-up. This action will reset your browser to initial settings, and the err_cache_miss error should be fixed.

If you are playing with experimental features, then go to “chrome://flags/” in the address bar. Look for the “Reset all to default” button at the top right corner. These settings may have been changed by 3rd party software without your knowledge, so resetting here may fix errors in some cases.

Fix 9: Update Chrome

Just the same way an outdated Windows version could cause problems and errors to you, your PC, older Chrome versions as well may not be that stable.

Outdated software often is not stable enough and may have several glitches that could cause err_cache_miss error.

To fix this error, you will have to bring the Chrome browser to the latest version.

  1. Hit the Windows key on the keyboard and the then type in the control panel
  2. Select the first option from the results and then select programs
  3. Choose the uninstall a program option from programs and features
  4. Right-click on Google Chrome from the list of applications displayed then click uninstall. Confirm the process.
  5. Once Chrome has been successfully removed from the system, open another browser and then find filehippo.
  6. In the search bar, type Google Chrome. Download and install it. When installing, do not disconnect the internet. Be patient until it gets all the latest files.

Alternatively, open Chrome browser and then type in “chrome://settings/help” in the address bar. Google will automatically look for new updates and install.

Fix 10:Disable Caching in Developer Tools

There are cases where Chrome shows the “Failed to load resource: net:: ERR_CACHE_MISS” message in Developer Tools.

Fortunately, there is an option in the Developer Tools that you can use to completely disable cache.

To make use of it;

  1. Open Chrome and then go to “View
  2. Select Developer and then choose the Developer Tools” option. If you don’t want to go through that entire process, simply right-click in the browser and then choose “Inspect.” This will also open Developer Tools.
  3. Now once the developer tools window fires up, click on the three dots inside developer tools (remember this is not the three dots on the browser, this is inside the Developer Tools dock).
  4. Next, head over to “Settings,” check the option “Disable cache (while DevTools is open). This option can be found under “Preferences > Network.”

After everything is set, restart the Chrome browser and then open developer tools. Now open the website and check whether you are getting the “err_cache_miss” error.

There is also an open issue (discussion) that has been ongoing for years on this topic in the Chromium site.

Fix 11: Fix Your Own Site

Well, if you are experiencing this error and the site that you are trying to browse is yours, then you might need to take care of it.

This is important because many other users could be experiencing the same problem.

Therefore, to save them time, fix your own site by following the guidelines below:

  1. Log in to the admin side of your website and clear the cache on your server and CDN. You can do this by contacting your hosting provider, and they can take care of the issue on your behalf from their end.
  2. If you want to do it yourself, after you have logged in to your server, check the “Cache-Control” section. This should be on the header. Modify the cache control to “Cache-Control: none.”
  3. Refresh the site, and everything should be sorted out.

Finally, you have managed to fix the error, and you have known why it was being displayed.

Often, the err_cache_miss pops up when Chrome is unable to find the cached content.

As discussed in this prose, this could happen because of a form resubmission or even when you are trying to access cached pages.

Always try to apply the fixes in this article if the error happens when accessing normal webpages.

Were you able to fix the error from your end? Well, we’d love to hear from you. Share the experience with us and tell us if this post was helpful.

How To: Convert WAV to MP3 in Windows 10

There has never been any form of shortage with how you can share audio files from one person to another. There are tons of unique file formats that you can create and share music. In the digital audio domain, there are different forms of encoded digital audio, which can be compressed on totally distinct compression methods. But why should you convert WAV to MP3?

It is simple; they help reduce the audio fidelity in such a way that its file size remains small and manageable. However, when it comes to WAV and MP3 files, they tend to be the opposite ends of the spectrum. WAV files are usually huge, and MP3 is one of the easiest to share music formats. This is so because of its compact memory footprint. Having said that, it is, therefore, essential for you to to learn how you can convert WAV files to MP3 format in Windows 10. You can do this using the popular software on your PC, such as Windows Media Player. This software ensures that you can easily share your music at any time.

convert WAV to MP3 comparison

What is a WAV file?

Before we dig deeper, it is imperative first to know what a WAV file is.

A WAV audio file format is typically a raw audio format that was developed by Microsoft and IBM.

Audio files with such file extensions (WAV) are usually uncompressed and lossless audio files. Such files consume a lot of space. A standard WAV file can take about 10 MB per audio minute.

The WAV file formats have been designed or built with a technology that uses containers. These containers are necessary for containing each audio in a piece by making use of the resource exchange file format.

WAV is one of the conventional methods that Windows use in order to store audio and video files. However, apart from being used on files such as AVI, they can as well be used for all data.

It is rare to find WAV files in this advanced tech world. However, there is a group of professionals who still admire and appreciate such file formats; the professional music recording industry. Besides the music professionals or producers, many people are moving away from WAV to Free Lossless Audio Codec (FLAC). The reason behind such a move is that this technology uses a compression technique. It compresses a file to the minimum size possible, thus saving on space. While compressing, the quality of the file is still maintained.

What is an MP3?

Before we look into the methods that you can use to convert WAV to MP3 in Windows 10, it will also be essential to know what an MP3 file is. This is so that you know what you are getting yourself into.

In less technical terms, an MP3 file format is simply a coded version of an audio file whose quality has been strategically compromised. The audio file is strategically compromised to minimize the amount of data that is needed for online distribution.

However, keep in mind that this adjustment is made on, and the audio file does not negatively affect your files. What happens is that the encoder usually reduces the bits that are significantly less important and gives us a smaller file version of it.

Other Audio Considerations

As much as you might love an MP3 file that is reduced in size significantly and taking less memory as compared to a WAV file, there are things you should know.

As much as it is reduced in size, making it easy to share with friends and family, this heavily compressed format (MP3) can affect the quality of the audio noticeably.

It is, therefore, vital to use less compressed file formats. This is necessary if you are distributing audio files for professional purposes.

If you find it difficult to share large WAV files, you can make use a file-sharing service as an alternative way. One of the best file-sharing services out there is the popular Dropbox. This service is beneficial and reliable when it comes to sharing large WAV files with users.

Immediately a file is converted from WAV to MP3. Take a moment to listen to the file. Doing this will help you to understand the differences between these two formats well. It will also help you to see if you can hear any changes made to the audio.

Most of the time, you may not notice anything, especially if you are listening to the file using computer speakers or your mobile device. If you have professional-grade headphones or speakers, then you may notice a difference.

Well, now that we know the basics, let’s see how we can convert WAV to MP3 in Windows 10.

Method 1: Converting WAV to MP3 Using Windows Media Player

When I first talked to a group of people in a forum that you can use the elemental Windows Media Player to convert WAV files to MP3, most of them did not believe it was possible.

Many people have underrated this tool, and the usage ratio is 100:1. That means, in a group of one hundred people, you will find only one person using the default media player by Windows. Most of us have moved to third-party media players like VLC and Pot Player.

Here is what you didn’t know converting a WAV file to MP3 can be accomplished in just a few simple steps using Windows Media Player.

Here is how you can go about it.

  1. First of all, import a WAV file into the Windows Media Player library. You can do this by clicking and dragging that specific track or file into the Library section of the Windows Media Player software.
  2. After you have successfully imported the file, you are now free to convert it as you want. To convert a file from WAV to MP3 format, head over to the “Options” menu.
  3. While in the options menu, choose the “Rip Settings” tab.
  4. Afterward, move the cursor to the “Format” tab, and the Format menu will appear.
  5. Now you can select MP3 from the menu.
  6. Finally, click on the “Apply” button in order to save the changes you just made.
  7. When the saving process is successful, select the WAV file and press the “Rip” button. Doing this will convert that particular WAV file to an MP3 file in the destination folder you specified.

Method 2: How to Convert WAV to MP3 Using the VLC Media Player

In this step, we will convert “WAV” to MP3 using the VLC Media Player. I know you all have this, but if you don’t have it, you will need to install it first. This is because it is a third-party media player application that does not come with Windows or Mac.

convert WAV to MP3 using VLC

For that:

  1. Open your browser and search for vlc.exe.
  2. Select the first result, hit the download button, and the file will be saved on your PC.
  3. Go to the location where the VLC executable file is saved, right-click on it and then select run as an admin. This process will install the media player on your PC.
  4. After the installation process is complete, open the software and then press “Ctrl” + “R” simultaneously from your keyboard. This will open the conversion menu.
  5. Click on the “Add” button and then select the “WAV” file you want to convert.
  6. Click on the Convert/Save button.
  7. In the next window, activate the “Convert” option and click on the “Profile” drop-down list.
  8. Now select “MP3 Audio” from the list and select the destination by clicking on “Browse.”
  9. Click Start, and the media player will automatically convert the file.

Well, that is how you can convert WAV to MP3 in Windows 10. But during this process, you might also find the need to convert some of your MP4 files to MP3 as well. How do you go about it?

Don’t worry. We have listed some of the ways you can use to get through this. It is vital that you read about them because today, your need is to convert WAV to MP3. Tomorrow, it will be MP4 to MP3.

That said, let’s have a look at…

Formatting Considerations

Before you convert any MP4 to MP3 you should know their difference. Please note that the difference between the two is that the MP4 file format is mostly used to store video and audio content. When you decide to convert an MP4 file to the MP3 file format, any video content that is stored in the MP4 will be completely removed (lost).

The video content will be lost because the MP3 file format exclusively caters to audio and cannot contain any other forms of multimedia.

The MP3 format is commonly used with portable music players, where its compression is not noticeable by most listeners.

Also, be warned that the MP3 uses massive data compression technology. This means that when you convert the MP4 to MP3, the overall audio quality in the file will be reduced considerably when compared to other file formats, such as WAV or AIFF.

If you need professional audio quality for your purposes, convert your file to a more memory-intensive format to preserve the fidelity of the recording.

How to Convert MP4 to MP3 in Windows Media Player

It turns out that Windows Media Player is among the most popular and long-term software app in the Windows network. AS I said, it comes with all versions of the Windows operating system except Windows 8.1. What is GSvr.exe? How To Remove Or Fix GSvr.exe

So, have you been wondering what a GSvr.exe is, and is it a virus, or is it safe for your PC? Well, the Gsvr.exe is typically an executable file. It is a part of the Energy Saver Advance B9.0316.1 program that is designed and developed by GIGABYTE. This software has a size of about 16.9 MB.

This file is not different from other executable files or applications. The .exe extension should not scare you because it is just a file name that is used to name executable files or setups of programs.

However, when I say that you should not be scared of executable files, it does not mean that they are all safe. There are cases where executable files can damage or harm your computer.

You can go through this GSvr.exe file documentation and see if it is safe on your computer.

From there, you will be able to find out more details, whether it is a virus or trojan horse that should be deleted. You will also find out if it is a valid Windows operating system file or a reliable application.

But before you do that, we have discussed a little about it, and there is also sufficient information about the same in this article.

Is GSvr.exe safe, or is it a virus or malware?

Here is what you need to know in all executable files that you will find out there. The location of an executable is the very first thing that can help you to determine if a given file is legitimate or a virus.

Let us take, for example, a process like GSvr.exe; this process should run from C:\Program Files\GIGABYTE\EnergySaver\essvr.exe only. It should not, by any chance, run from any other location.

If you find out that it is running from a different location, then you should question it.

In order to confirm if this file is running in the right location, open the Task Manager by pressing Ctrl + Shift + Esc on the keyboard and then head over to View. Now select Columns and then from here choose “Image Path Name” to add a location column to your Task Manager.

If you find a suspicious directory from this window, then it will be wise to investigate this process further.

There is another tool that can as well help you detect malicious processes. This tool is the inbuilt Microsoft’s Process Explorer that comes with Windows during installation.

  • Start the program and then activate “Check Legends” under Options.
  • Now go to View and then select Columns and add “Verified Signer” as one of the columns.
  • If you find out that the “Verified Signer” status of that particular process is listed as “Unable to Verify,” then that should raise the alarm.Take a moment and look at the process.

Remember that not all right Windows processes contain a legitimate Verified Signature label, and also neither does any of the bad ones.

Here are some of the most critical facts about GSvr.exe:

  1. This .exe file should be located in C:\Program Files\GIGABYTE\EnergySaver subfolder;
  2. Its genuine publisher is: GIGABYTE
  3. The full Path of this executable file is: C:\Program Files\GIGABYTE\EnergySaver\essvr.exe
  4. It does not have a help file
  5. The publisher URL of this file is: www.GIGABYTE.comThe average size should be at least 16.9 MB in size on most Windows.

The above factors should help you determine if this executable file is genuine or not.

If you have been facing difficulties with this executable file, try to determine if it’s trustworthy or not before you decide on whether to delete the GSvr.exe or not.

To do this

Find this process in Task Manager.

Locate its location. The location of this process should be C:\Program Files\GIGABYTE\EnergySaver.

Once you find it, compares the size, location, full Path, the publisher, the publisher URL, and many other factors with the essential facts about the GSvr.exe above.

If you have a feeling that your computer may be infected with a virus, it is necessary to try and fix it immediately.

For you to be able to delete the GSvr.exe virus, you will first need to download and install a full security application like Malwarebytes.

Please note that not all the tools you will find on the web can detect every type of malware. This means that you might have to try several options before you detect one successfully.

Additionally, the process of deleting the GSvr.exe can be affected by how the nature of the virus and how it functions. If this is the case, enable Safe Mode with Networking. This will create a very secure environment that will disable most processes. When you boot into this mode, it will only load the essential services and drivers that your PC requires.

When you are in safe mode, you can now run a security program and a complete system analysis.

Can I remove or delete GSvr.exe?

As much as you might want to get rid of this file, it is important not to delete a safe executable file if you don’t have a valid reason. This is because if you remove it, it can affect the performance of all programs that are associated with it negatively.

As stated above, BlueStacks was designed to create an android environment on computers so that you can be able to run Android Apps, and one of them is the WhatsApp application.

When using bluestacks, you will only be required to have one WhatsApp account per individual phone number. If you happen to create another account on a mobile phone using the same mobile number, then the active account on the PC will be closed.

Method 2:– Use WhatsApp on PC without using a local emulator

I know you are wondering how you can really use the WhatsApp application on your computer without having to use a phone or an emulator. I will explain that in this method. You’re probably wondering how right? You will achieve this using an online. I am talking about the online emulator and not the local emulator that you need to install on your PC.

What makes this method different from other emulators like Bluestacks is the fact that this particular emulator is not installed locally on your computer. It is hosted virtually, and you will like the experience.

The speed at which it operates explains why it’s a much better way to use WhatsApp on PC than the usual emulators that are available for download.

The logic is the same with what I told you about those emulators that need installation on your PC for them to operate, and for the online version, they have their environment created on the servers.

It is a perfect choice because it does not utilize any computer resources, including RAM, graphics memory and hard disk space.

The online emulator solves all these issues that other emulators come with.

That said, there is no need to worry about memory or storage because the emulator is cloud-based and therefore, it is installed on servers somewhere away from your computer.

However, for you to make use of it, you just need to install an excellent and fast browser like Google Chrome or Firefox and have a stable internet connection.

Also, don’t be worried about acquiring a smartphone. All the verifications that are required can be sent to any type of phone. It is just a verification code message from WhatsApp.

How do you use WhatsApp on an online emulator without a phone?

Part 1

  1. Install Google Chrome. You can skip this step if you already have Google Chrome installed. Otherwise, to install Google Chrome, visit the Google Chrome site’s download page and download the Google Chrome installer.
  2. Run the Chrome installer once the download process is done. The installer will download all the necessary files.
  3. After the download, open the Chrome browser.

Part 2

Add the Android online emulator extension in Google Chrome

Now that you have Google Chrome installed, it is time to install the Google Chrome emulator extension. This extension is the one that is going to help you run WhatsApp on the browser.

  1. Therefore, open the Google Chrome browser and then click on the three dots in the top right corner.
  2. Head over and select More tools and then click Extensions.
  3. Now click on the menu icon in the top left corner to pull out the sidebar of the extensions menu.
  4. After that, click on Open Chrome web store at the bottom of the menu.
  5. Search for Android Online Emulator and install the extension.
use WhatsApp on PC -online emulator

Part 3

Download WhatsApp Apk

Well, this online emulator is Android-based, and therefore we will need to install WhatsApp to it for us to be able to get it in use. However, before we install it, head over to the WhatsApp official download page and download the WhatsApp Apk. Make sure that you save it to a location you can easily recall because we will use it right in the next step.

Part 4

Install WhatsApp in the emulator

I believe that the Chrome browser is still open up to this moment.

  1. If that is the case, click on the Android Online Emulator extension. There must be an icon created in the extension section at the top right corner.
  1.  Next, click on My Apk manager & Apk upload.
  2. From the next screen – the Apk manager, click on the upload icon and then select on choose file.
  3. Now locate the downloaded WhatsApp Apk and upload it. When doing this, make sure that you don’t feel anything in the new file name filed. Just leave it blank and click on Upload Apk.
  4. Now click on the Run APK button to start the installation. The emulator will start the installation process. Be patient until everything is set up. Note that since this is the first installation, the extension might take a little more time for it to finalize on every detail. Don’t stop or close the browser. Also, make sure that the internet connection is stable. This is necessary because the emulator is hosted on a server and not on your PC.
  5. Follow the onscreen prompt to proceed with the WhatsApp installation process.
  6. Once the installation is successful, enter your details like the phone number.
Enter your Phone Number
  1. Verification code from Whatsapp will be sent to your phone (to the phone number you specified above to be precise)
  2. Enter the verification code that you receive in the text box area in Whatsapp on your PC. You will be logged in to your account after the initialization is complete.

You’re now done. Enjoy your WhatsApp on PC without a smartphone and in a fast and efficient environment.

Method 3 – Use WhatsApp on PC with Phoenix Operating System

This might sound a little bit confusing, but there is not much difference with what is usually done when you install Ubuntu OS alongside Windows operating system.

I hope I have not confused you more. What I mean is that in this method, we are going to install the Phoenix OS (the Android operating system) to run alongside the Windows Operating System that is already installed on your computer.

Running Android on a PC is can be such a great experience. It is the fastest phone you can ever acquire. Why am I saying this?

Imagine having a phone that has computer specifications, like RAM, HDD, resolution and others. How fast can a phone with for example 4GB of RAM be?

Don’t answer it…

That is precisely what we are going to do.

Don’t be scared because we are not converting your PC into an android device. You will still run the Windows Operating System anytime you want.

So here is how you can go about it:

Part 1:

  1. First of all, download the Phoenix OS (Android for PC).

In order to make use of it, we shall be using dual boot in order to open the Phoenix OS. When I talk of Dual boot, I simply mean that you are going to have two operating systems running on the same computer: the Windows OS and the Phoenix OS. You can always switch between any of the operating systems.

After you have downloaded the operating system from the manufacturer’s official website, the installer will be saved on your PC. There are several installer types you can choose from which include; an online installer, ISO image, and an EXE installer. Also, the installers are categorized according to the Android version. For purposes of illustration and also for ease of use, we recommend that you download the EXE installer.

Part 2: Create a new partition and restore point

  1. Before you run the installer on your PC, I suggest that you create a new disk partition specifically for the Phoenix operating system.

The minimum disk partition size should be 10GB.

  1. In addition to that, make sure that you create a restore point as a way to back up the current system settings and configurations. It is imperative just in case anything goes wrong.

If you don’t know how to create a restore point, Click here for details on how to create a restore point. And also read this article here on how to use it in the system restore.

Part 3: Run the file as administrator

  1. Now after the two are set, i.e. the partition and the restore point, you can now run the downloaded EXE file as administrator. To run the file as an administrator, simply right-click on the file and click on the run as administrator from the options that will be displayed.
  2. Now an installation wizard will pop up, just click on Install.
  3. Next, select the disk partition that you’ve just created and click Next.
  4. On the data size option, just select 8G and click Install. This installation will take several minutes, so be patient until everything is setup.
  5. Reboot the computer immediately the installation is complete.
  6. Now after you reboot your PC before it boots into the Windows operating system, a menu of operating systems will be displayed during the boot-up. Just navigate through the options and then select Phoenix operating system and press the Enter button. Doing this will boot your computer in the Phoenix OS. It is as easy to use as an android phone. The design or layout is not different from that of an android phone, and therefore everything will be easy to navigate through.

Part 4: Download WhatsApp from Google Play store

Well, when the Phoenix operating system boots up, it will open with pre-installed or with the basic android applications installed on it including Google Play.

To install the WhatsApp application, just open the Google Play app and do a search of WhatsApp from the search box. Click on the first option and then hit the Install button. When doing this, make sure that you are connected to the internet connection. Also, make sure the date and time are correct. If they are not set, Google Play will not open.

Also, make sure that you have an active Gmail account just in case you are asked for it when downloading WhatsApp.

You can now install WhatsApp from Google play.

After the installation is complete, open the WhatsApp application and tabulate the required details.

Select the method that suits you, i.e. .a call or text message so that you can get the verification code to verify your details. The code will be sent to the mobile phone number that you specify. If you chose to verify by Call, you would receive an automated call from Whatsapp. Note down the code that you will hear.

Once you have the verification code, type it in the app, and your account will be set up.

Remember that the Phoenix operating system is not limited to only WhatsApp. Therefore, you can install any other Android applications you want, including games.

Method 4: Use WhatsApp desktop app

Please note that the steps listed or described in this method will only work for those who are using the Windows 10 operating system.

use WhatsApp on PC -desktop app

Also, you will be required to have an active WhatsApp account on your smartphone. If you don’t have a smartphone, I am sorry, this method will not work for you.

Here are the steps:

  1. Hit the windows button on the keyboard or press Windows key + Q in order to open the search box
  2. Now type the word “store” in the search box and then open the Microsoft store. It should be the first option in the results.
  3. You may be asked to sign in to your Windows account before using the store. Sign in otherwise you’ll not get access to the Microsoft store.
  4. You will be provided with the option to create an account in case you don’t have a Windows account. Just click on create an account and then follow the steps or guidelines on the screen in order to create an account.
  5. After signing, you’ll get access to the Microsoft store.
  6. From the search panel on the top right corner, search for “Whatsapp” and from a list of displayed results click on “WhatsApp Desktop“.
  7. Now click on download to start downloading.
  8. The download can then be monitored by clicking on the download icon at the top right corner of the store window.
  9. Once the download is complete, open it and then log into your WhatsApp account. To do this, open WhatsApp on your phone, click on the three vertical dots at the top right corner of your WhatsApp screen.
  10. From the options menu, click on Whatsapp Web and use the phone to scan the QR code on the Whatsapp desktop app.

Whatsapp on your PC will automatically log in when the scan is successful.

You can now always log in to your WhatsApp account by just opening your WhatsApp desktop app.

How to Repair 0xC0000005 Windows Application Error (Solved)

Are you looking forward to fixing the very annoying Error Code 0xc0000005 windows application error? Well, we are going to take through the measures you should adopt in order to get it fixed.

Various reasons in a Windows computer can cause this error. Some of the causes can be things like damaged or low RAM, malware infection, corrupt registry files, wrong hardware configuration, and many other reasons.

0xC0000005 Windows Application Error

The 0xC0000005 is one of the most commonly seen errors that is displayed in a Windows computer system.

Under what circumstances can you run into the 0xC0000005 error

There are three situations where the error in question can be displayed. These situations are:

Windows Installation Error

This is the worse situation that you can run into this error. It is annoying when the error stops the Windows operating system installation process. Actually, the error is fond of popping up during this time. However, the good news is that, when you see it when making an OS installation, it is most probably related to temporary hardware issues. This could be issues with the Random Access Memory (RAM) or even a corrupt hard drive that has a couple of bad sectors.

Here is what you will see on your screen: Error: Windows installation encountered an unexpected error …

Access Violation Error

Well, you can also get this error when there is an access violation error. What I mean is that it can occur when a program in Windows tries to get access to a location or data from a location or directory that is not assigned to it. The worse thing about it is that it is not selective of which application can lead to the error. It is global such that it can occur with any Windows application. Most of the time, this happens because of some registry issue, faulty RAM, corrupt drivers, virus infection, or incorrect security update, and the list continues.

When the error is from an access violation situation, the error you will see on your PC will be something like Error: Exception: Access violation error (0xc0000005) at ….. This varies sometimes depending on the PC brand you are using. However, for HP and Toshiba users, the error is this way.

Application unable to start

There are times when you just open an application, and due to some unknown reasons, it fails to start. If this happens then, an error will pop up. It is not caused by programs you don’t know, but instead, it can be brought about by the commonly used apps installed on your Windows PC such as Mozilla, VLC, Chrome browser, game, etc. Here is the bad news, we found out that doing a re-installation does not help you to fix the issue. This is because when a program fails to launch and you get this error, the main cause is an invalid, unsigned, or incomplete DLL files. These are the ideal files that are responsible or which helps the software to run on the Windows platform. Such files work like a car battery. They are not that important during operation but essential when starting the car.

Error: The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000005) is the one that will be displayed on your screen.

Why is it essential to fix the 0xC0000005 Windows Application Error?

The last thing you would want to see on your PC is the error code 0xc0000005. Being able to be fixed does not mean that it is a friendly error. No, it is not. This error code can lead to massive data loss. This can be either directly or indirectly. So, if you see this error, try as much as you can to get it solved quickly.

But you don’t have to worry so much about data loss. All you need to focus on is to quickly fix the error, get your computer running, and the rest can be taken care of using the Stellar Data Recovery tool. The Stellar Data Recovery software is ideal for a quick recovery of your lost data.

Additionally, we mentioned that the error could also pop up when you are installing the Windows operating system. Before I forget, it can also be caused by Windows updates.

I know you are very much worried than you were when you came to this post, but you don’t need to panic.

There are several ways you can implement to quickly solve this issue when you get these errors. Remember, they can be easily fixed and also you are not the first or only one to get this error.

How to repair 0xC0000005 Windows application error

Solution 1: Check the Random Access Memory (RAM)

The first thing you should do when you run into the 0xC0000005 Windows Application Error code is to turn off the system and try to replace the RAM with other RAM.

Another trick that has also worked for many is to swap RAM slots and then reboot the computer system.

I am saying you swap or replace the RAM because this error code is one of the canning application error that occurs from faulty RAM memory.

After you replace the RAM, check if the error still persists. Swapping of RAM is required when there is physical damage to RAM connectors or hardware.

The error should be fixed because this is most likely the reason that triggered the 0xC0000005 Windows Application Error message.

Don’t forget to do the following before you start removing the memory:

  1. Turn off your PC entirely and remove all cables including the power, network, USB and many other cables that might be connected on your PC
  2. Remove the battery (if you have a laptop).
  3. Ground yourself out before you touch the memory.

These precautions are important so that you don’t shot some important components of your PC.

Also, you can run a memory diagnostic test on your RAM using Memtest86+ to fix the issue.

Solution 2: Fix Registry

I believe that you have come across some articles discussing things to do with the registry. They are an important component of your computer system, and any corrupt registry file can lead to serious issues in the system. They can go as far as to cause this error code that we are handling.

If you might be having a backup of your registry files the better, you can easily restore your system’s registry, and you will get this problem fixed immediately.

The other thing you can do is to modify the registry files. However, this is a move that many people will not dare to follow. Registries are very sensitive, and modifying a single file is a bit complex and can be dangerous for the system.

So what is a registry?

The registry is simply a database that resides in Windows which contains important information regarding the system hardware, installed programs, and settings, and profiles of each of the user account on your computer. Windows continually refer to the information in the registry.

It is dangerous because if you happen to make any invalid or improper alteration to a file, you might just trigger serious system consequences. This can be a storm of a lifetime.

Therefore, before you try to make any changes to the system, make sure that you make a backup of your current registry files.

So, let us get strong and focused and get through a quick process of fixing the registry and get to repair the 0xC0000005 Windows Application Error code.

Perform the following steps and don’t change any values:

  1. Hit the ‘Windows + R’ keys on your keyboard in order to launch the Run dialogue box
  2. In the Run box, type in regedit, and then hit ‘Enter’ key in order to execute the command.
  3. The above operation should take you to the registry screen where you can edit the registry files. While there, navigate to HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows\AppInit_Dlls

  8. Finally, click ‘OK’ and restart the computer system and then try running the programs.

The error should be fixed, and everything should be running just fine.

Solution 5: Run CHKDSK Utility

As a computer owner, you should make a habit of checking your hard disk for errors often. This is something you should not assume because if you don’t know the health status of your hard disk, there is a time it will completely halt, and you won’t be able to know why.

Being aware of the health status of your HDD is important because you will prepare in advance on replacing it in case it is in a critical condition.

Also, when you check your HDD often, and you notice a decrease in its health, you will start making backups of your data and information earlier in advance.

This is essential so that you don’t face any last-minute rush or even to avoid encountering the worse. The last thing you want to get yourself in to is the time when your HDD completely halts and wit tons of important files and info inside.

A corrupt hard drive or one with bad sectors can as well trigger the error code 0x0000005.

If you run a CHKDSK (check disk) utility, you can be able to fix the disk corruption due to bad sectors.

The steps to do this a really simple:

  1. Hit the Windows key + Q on your keyboard in order to open the search box
  2. Type in the word or initials CMD.
  3. From the results that are displayed, right-click on the first option and then select run as an administrator.
  4. The above operations will open the command prompt in administrator mode. Once the terminal is open, type chkdsk X: /f /r where X is the hard drive letter that needs repair and then hit ‘Enter’ key.
  5. Be patient until the check disk utility finishes then restart your PC. The issue should be long gone during the next startup.

  6. After the check is complete, click ‘Apply fixes’ and then restart the computer system in order to apply the fixes.

Solution 7: Update Disk Drivers or Re-install them

One of the common methods that can help you to fix the 0xC0000005 Windows Application Error is either to update the drivers or uninstall and then reinstalling them once more.

Device drivers that are out of date can cause many problems.

If you are facing any issue with the device, updating the device driver fixes most of it and will ensure that your system has the latest fix for errors and bugs.

There are several ways you can adopt to fix this issue. You can either do it manually or automatically using windows or a third-party driver update tool.

Alternatively, you can right-click on the windows icon and then select properties from the properties window, select device manager.
  2. Now double-click on the Disk Drives and then right-click on the drive where the Windows and other programs are installed.
  3. You will see two options the uninstall and update options.
  4. Choose Update Driver and then click Search automatically for updated driver software in the Update Driver dialogue box. If you have those drivers on your PC, you can select the browse drivers from this PC option.
  5. Wait till Windows finds the driver. If it doesn’t find a new driver, download it from your disk manufacturer’s site and update by clicking on Browse my computer for driver software in the Update Drivers dialogue box

If updating drivers doesn’t help, try reinstalling the drivers. Right-click on the disk and choose to ‘Uninstall device’ and then restart the system. Windows automatically re-installs drivers.

An alternative way to update the drivers

You can also reinstall or update the drivers automatically using the driver update tool called Driver Easy.

This software tool will automatically recognize your system and find the correct drivers for your exact graphics driver, and your variant of Windows 10, and it will download and install them correctly:

6. Restart your computer and check if you were able to fix the error in question.

Solution 8: Check your BCD (Boot Configuration Data)

If your computer has any hacked or infected files, then these files could be risky for your PC. They could be infected by a virus or malware.

If you see the xOsload.exe, xNtKrnl.exe or/and oem-drv64.sys files on your then know that they are hacked files that trounce activating Windows.

This method is very sensitive, and I will say to you that you can be able to check your BCD and then follow the fix steps below if you want to. But this is at your own risk.

0xC0000005 Windows Application Error-using the BCD
  1. Hit the Windows key + Q and the type CMD

Please note that if your Windows Boot Loader Path is xOsload.exe, you will then be required to remove some files and repair your BCD. Also, after this task, you will need to re-activate your Windows. What does this mean, you should have your Windows 7 key in place so that you can use it later.
  5. If everything is in place, make sure that you set the drive letters according to your windows installed directory.
  6. Now Boot to Windows Repair – and open command prompt and type the following commands. Hit the Enter key after each command

Start by typing Del D:\Windows\System32\xOsload.exe

Del D:\Windows\System32\xNtKrnl.exe

Del D:\Windows\System32\Drivers\oem-drv64.sys

attrib c:\boot\bcd -h -r -s

ren c:\boot\bcd bcd.old

bootrec /rebuildbcd

Solution 9: Try Rkill to fix 0xC0000005

You might be wondering what on earth is Rkill. It is not something huge, and it won’t cause any destructions or damage to your PC or its components.

The Rkill is simply program developed at Its main function is to terminate known malware processes. After it stops any malware processes that were running on your computer system, it makes it easier for the normal security software (maybe a third-party antivirus or windows defender) to run and clean any infections that could be on your PC.

Also, apart from allowing your security software to work at its optimal, it also kills or removes malware processes and together with any incorrect executable associations connected to the malware. As a result, it will be able to fix policies that that were stopping you from using certain tools. This will revert everything to normal, and you will not see the 0xC0000005 Windows Application Error again.

When it is done with its operations, it will display a log file which shows the processes that were terminated while the program was running.

Download Rkill from here, install and run it.

The interface is user friendly, and I bet you will not get stuck with any steps.

Solution 10: Disable antivirus

Antivirus programs as much as they protect your PC against malicious software and malware, they can cause you a headache.

They have all the permission to do what they want in your PC as long as it does not harm or damage the computer system.

However, this freedom can go to the extent of limiting your operations and affect the executable files of a number of programs.

Therefore, in order to fix this problem and avoid all the troubles that can be caused by your antivirus software, it will be best to disable that particular third-party antivirus program.

If you disable it and find out that the problem is gone, you can opt for software.

Disabling antivirus program can result in some severe threats to your computer when connected to the internet

That said, if you don’t want to completely disable the antivirus, you can add the specific programs that can’t run to the whitelist.

Solution 11: Restore System or Use a Data Recovery Tool

Performing a System Restore is the last option that you can use to fix the 0xC0000005 Windows Application Error. However, It is important to note that this method will only work if your computer system has an available restore point before the error occurred.

If there are no Restore Points available on your computer, you can use a data recovery tool and recover lost or inaccessible data from a corrupt or damaged hard drive that might have been caused by bad sectors in your system.

The tool that I recommend you use is the Stellar Data Recovery- Standard. What is Video.UI.exe ? How To Remove Or Fix Video.UI.exe

What is Video.UI.exe ? Is it safe, or is it a Virus? How do I remove it from my computer? These are just some of the questions that many Windows users have been asking. It is not wrong to want to know something, and that is why we have created this post.

A video.UI.exe is simply an executable file that is part of Windows 10 Operating System. It is a necessary file that was designed and developed by Microsoft Corporation.

Usually, the Windows version of the software: 1.6.1081.0 is about 6.921864 megabytes.

It is important to note that the version of the same file you have on your PC may differ. But mostly, the size does not go below the one stated above and does not exceed 8Mbs in most cases.

When we look at the .exe extension of a file, it interprets to or refers to file that can be executed (executable file). There are cases where executable files can damage your computer.

This article will help you to figure out more on whether this should be on your computer and if it is a virus or malware that you should delete.

You will also get more detailed information on whether it is a valid Windows operating system file or reliable application.

But for the basics, we have what you need to know right in this article and without wasting time, let’s get rolling.

Is Video.UI.exe safe, or is it a virus or malware?

There are things that will help you to determine whether a particular file is a legitimate Windows process or a virus. One of such things is the location of the executable itself.

For our case here, we have to confirm the location of the Video.UI.exe. Before you conclude that you should remove it or leave it intact, make sure that it’s path is something like C:\Program Files\Microsoft Corporation\Windows 10 Operating System\Video.UI.exe.

For you to determine the ideal path of this file, follow the steps below:
  1. First of all, open Task Manager. You can do this by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Del.
  2. From the screen that appears on your computer, select task manager
  3. Once you are in the task manager window, head over to the View tab
  4. From here, select Columns and then choose “Image Path Name” for you to add a location column to your Task Manager window.
  5. From the path-name column, check if you can see the path that looks like the one I mentioned above. However, if you don’t find any and there seems to be a suspicious directory, then it may be wise to investigate this process further.

Apart from the above procedure, there is another tool which you can use to find out if there is a lousy process running on your computer. You can use Microsoft’s Process Explorer. It is also instrumental because it will give you an idea about the running processes, and from that analysis, you can be able to make sound decisions on whether to delete the file or not.

The best thing about it is that it does not need to be installed for you to use it. It is one of the essential features that are installed when you install the operating system or when making a Windows Update.

Follow the instructions below in on how to use the Microsoft’s Process Explorer:
  1. Start the process explorer. If you don’t know how to launch it, simply press Ctrl + Shift + Esc. Alternatively, you can hit the Windows key + R on your keyboard in order to open the Run Dialog box. When it launches, type in the phrase “explorer.exe” without the quotes and then hit the Enter key.
  2. After the Explorer window is open, activate “Check Legends” under Options.
  3. Now head over to View and then select Columns
  4. From this screen, just add “Verified Signer” as one of the columns.
  5. Make sure that you take an in-depth look at all the processes here. If you see a “Verified Signer” status of a process is marked as “Unable to Verify”, you should immediately take a look at the process.

Also, while doing this, it is essential to know that not all the processes that are verified are good. You should examine all the Windows processes even if they have a Verified Signature label. Additionally, not all unverified processes are really bad. It might be contradicting but, it is just to make you be keen when handling things to do with the Video.UI.exe file.

The most important facts about Video.UI.exe that you should know:

Well, the facts that I am going to list below are significant. See, before exams are given to students, the teachers have to come up with a universal marking scheme that will favour each and every pupil. They tend to include every possible answer so that they don’t deny their students’ marks.

The same idea has been considered for the Video.UI.exe file. Most people tend to think that it is a virus and should be removed from computers. But before you decide to do that, you should make sure that it is not doing any harm to your PC.

Deciding to remove .exe files is something that can stop some services on your PC and in return, cause severe malfunctioning.

So, this executable file has the following attributes:

  • The ideal name of the file is Video.UI.exe.
  • Software: Windows 10 Operating System
  • It is published by Microsoft Corporation.
  • The expected location that this file should be running is C:\Program Files\Microsoft Corporation\Windows 10 Operating System\ subfolder.
  • The expected full path of this file is C:\Program Files\Microsoft Corporation\Windows 10 Operating System\Video.UI.exe.
  • SHA1: f8111445955a86c09fdf48ba4fb117d8a9cd807c
  • SHA256: 7c4efbdde95c42224d738e9d0e3c5f1c3f050b2fdc74525db4be6cc3eefd2895
  • MD5: 4c4b6ce29b2022a34d70d4c7cb92aa11
  • Known to be up to 6.921864 Mbs in size on most Windows;

Why are the above facts vital to you as a user?

The usefulness of the information I have stated above comes in handy when you are facing issues with it.

If you happen to experience any difficulties with this executable file, the first thing you should is to figure out it’s trustworthy before deleting Video.UI.exe.

To do this,

  1. Simply find this process in Task Manager.
  2. Find its location and compare the size and other attributes like the full path, publisher and many other characteristics with the above facts.

If you find out that the facts don’t match and you suspect that your PC may be infected with a virus or malware, then you should attempt to fix it immediately.

To delete the Video.UI.exe virus, you must download and install a full security application like this.

Not all tools can detect every type of malware, so you may need to try several options before you manage to recognise any.

In addition, the functionality of the virus may itself affect the deletion of Video.UI.exe. In this case, you must enable Safe Mode with Networking – a secure environment that disables most processes and loads only the most essential services and drivers. When there, you can run a security program and a complete system analysis.

Can I remove or delete Video.UI.exe?

I believe that this what you wanted to know. However, it was necessary first to understand several details before you get to this.

Before you reach a position where you want to get rid of this file, make sure that you evaluate its process well.

But all in all, it is recommended that you should not delete a safe executable file without a valid reason. Video.UI.exe is a secure executable file by Microsoft. Removing it without any compelling reasons may affect the performance of your computer and any of its any associated programs. Programs that depend on this file for them to run can be affected, and most probably, you PC will start malfunctioning.

Expert Tip

It is always advisable that you keep your computer updated all the time. Keeping your computer software and all installed programs up to date are very important because it will help you to avoid any future problems caused by corrupted files.

With regard to any software issues and their functionality, often check driver and software updates, if you do this, there will be very little or and at times no risk of such problems occurring.

What should you do if you find suspicious unmatched facts of the file?

It is recommended that whenever you suspect something wrong on your PC, immediate action should be taken in order to fix it immediately.

Therefore, the best advice I can give you in such situations is to do a complete system analysis. You can easily do this using several tools including ASR Pro or this antivirus and malware remover.

These tools will help you to scan the file, analyze the file and also classify the file accordingly. When classifying, you will be told whether the file is malicious or not. If the file is classified nd a virus or malware, the two software mentioned above will delete the Video.UI.exe and also remove other files and apps that are of the associated malware.

What if the file is not malware?

If the file is not a virus, it will be left in your PC.

However, if you still need to delete the Video.UI.exe, then you can uninstall it from your Windows 10 Operating System. You can do this from your computer using its uninstaller.

If you are not able to find it’s an uninstaller, the option that remains is to uninstall Windows 10 Operating System to completely delete Video.UI.exe.

You can use the Add/Remove Program function in the Windows Control Panel.

  1. Hit the Windows button on your keyboard and then type Control Panel
  2. Select and open the first option from the results
  3. When the control panel window opens, go ahead and select the following under Programs:

Windows Vista/7/8.1/10: Click Uninstall a Program.

Windows XP: Click Add or Remove Programs.

  1. Now scroll through the list of programs until you find the program Windows 10 Operating System.

When you find it, click it, and then:

 Windows Vista/7/8.1/10: Click Uninstall.

  1.  Windows XP: Click the Remove or Change/Remove tab (to the right of the program).
  2. Now follow the on-screen instructions or prompts in order to remove Windows 10 Operating System.

How to fix Video.UI.exe

Keeping your computer files clean and tidy is one of the best ways to avoid problems with Video.UI.exe. What do I mean?

What I mean by clean and tidy computer files is that you need to regularly perform malware scans, cleaning your hard disk with cleanmgr and sfc /scannow. Additionally, uninstalling programs you no longer need is also crucial.

You should also monitor all the auto-start programs (with msconfig) and also enable automatic Windows updates. All of these tasks can help you to fix any problems related to the Video.UI.exe file.

Apart from that, they always make regular backups or at least define recovery points.

However, if you happen to be having a much bigger problem, just remember the last thing you did or the last thing you installed before the problem occurred.

To fix it, you can use the resmon command to identify the processes that are causing difficulties.

Some people often reinstall the entire Windows. Please don’t. You don’t have to go through the entire process of reinstalling your operating system for you to get the errors fixed. Instead of doing that, just try to repair your installation by executing the command DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth. This command allows you to repair the operating system without losing your data.

Also, you can make use of this useful tool Security Task Manager. It will help you to analyze the Video.UI.exe process on your PC and then display all Windows tasks that are running. In its report, it includes even the built-in hidden processes such as the keyboard and browser monitoring or auto-start entries.

If you see any security risk rating in this tool, that is the signal. That particular processor file could probably be a spyware, malware or a potential Trojan horse. Use this anti-virus to detect and remove any spyware, adware, Trojans, keyloggers, malware and trackers from your hard disk.

Download or reinstall Video.UI.exe

When doing this, please note that we do not recommend you to download exe files from any download sites.

Exe files from unofficial sites may contain viruses and malware.

Fix Unable To Update The Minecraft Native Launcher

Minecraft is a thriller and a very popular game that many people enjoy playing. The game is played by people of most people regardless of age or status. However, there have been cases whereby some users have been complaining of a problem that makes them unable to update the Minecraft native launcher game application in Windows.

The problem experienced in this game happens to also prevent you from playing the game. This so because at that time the update process is frozen and there is nothing that can run.

unable to update the minecraft cover

From the reports we have gathered from several sources, we found out that many users install Minecraft updates right through the Minecraft Launcher app. And now when the entire updating process fails or maybe gets stuck, the app displays an error message: Unable to update the Minecraft Native Launcher.

When the error in question appears in the game, the Minecraft game application usually tries to restart the update process once again and again the update gets stuck just like before.

Why does Minecraft give the Unable to update the Minecraft Native Launcher error message?

It is always a good practice to find out why you receive some errors on your PC before digging down to how you can fix or resolve them. During our research, we figured out the issues that break the Minecraft update process or issues that trigger the error and we came up with this list:

A.     Irregularities in the new launcher:

We found out that the error in question is mostly caused by irregularities or inconsistencies with the new launcher that you are using to update. It happens that for some reason, the new Minecraft launcher usually struggles to fetch files from the internet in order to update the game.

It has been found that there might be a bug in the launcher which affects the file downloading abilities of the old Minecraft Launcher.

Also, it has been seen that Minecraft launcher update could get worse mostly when the internet connection that you are using is slow.

If you find that this error is troubling you too much too while fetching for updates through the Minecraft launcher, it is advisable that you try downloading the Minecraft executable from the developer website directly. This is much better instead of you waiting for the launcher to do the job for you.

B.     Disruptions from third-party security applications:

We also found out that some of the third-party security solutions that you might have installed on your PC, especially antivirus, could block some of the processes that should be used by games during updates and could even disrupt their operations.

There are some malware protection utilities that go an extra step and stop the game applications from starting. They can even disable some important components that the game relies on to function.

The two causes are the common reasons why you will face a lot of problems while updating the Minecraft game application. However, the list of all the possible causes of the Minecraft is very long.

You will learn about some other issues and events that could cause this error on Windows 10 computers as you go through this guide.

Most times, when an app runs into an error while performing a process when an operation fails, it means that some of its files could likely be corrupt or maybe they might have been broken them.

When that is the case, you will have to repair the files and try to get them back to their normal state.

This process is not difficult or technical as you might think. Windows has an option that allows you to do a repair of files for any programs or applications that are installed on it.

If the game is displaying the Unable to update the Minecraft Native Launcher notification because its files are corrupted or broken then this fix will solve it. After repairing the game files, the update process is likely to run perfectly ok.

Here are the instructions you must follow to repair Minecraft:

  4. After the repair process is complete, we close all apps that are currently running on your PC and then restart your computer.
  5. Finally, run the Minecraft game and check to see if the update process can now pull through.

Solution 2: Download Minecraft directly from Minecraft’s website:

If the steps did not solve the Unable to update the Minecraft Native Launcher error er then you will have to download a new Minecraft app from the official Minecraft’s website and hopefully, you will be able to get on with your game.

A good number of users have managed to fix this issue by re-downloading it. If you manage to download the game and install it once more then there will be no need to worry if your internet is slow or something is broken in the update components.

Well, you will have to do is simply download a specific file from the website. Afterward, run the package, and then install Minecraft.

What should you do if the problem was not resolved

If that is the case, you now have to delete Minecraft’s old files.

At this point, you need a fresh start. By a fresh start, I simply mean that Minecraft must no longer be given permission to read data from broken or faulty packages.

To do so, continue with the steps below:

  1. Hit the Windows + R buttons on the keyboard in order to open the run dialog box. Alternatively, you can do this by right-clicking on your taskbar to see the list of options available and then choosing Run.
  2. Type this %Appdata% command in the Run box and then hit enter from your keyboard or simply click on the Ok button: Running this command will take you to the Appdata directory in a File Explorer window.
  3. Now, locate the Minecraft folder, and then click on it to get it highlighted.
  4. Right-click on the Minecraft folder and then select Delete. Windows will now remove the unwanted files. When this is done, close the file explorer window
  5. Now, head back to your Downloads folder or where your browser saves the items you download.
  6. Locate the Minecraft.exe package that you just downloaded and then click or double-click on it in order to run it.
  7. Follow the appropriate instructions to perform the tasks.
  8. After everything is done, you have to open Minecraft to see if things are now fine.

If the issues that trigger the Unable to update the Minecraft Native Launcher error appear again, restart your computer and then run the downloaded Minecraft executable again.

Solution 3: Disable your antivirus:

Well, if you are running any antivirus software on your PC as your computer’s main protection utility, then you this where you should begin your work. You should disable the antivirus and see if you can fix this issue.

We said that there is a credible link between the antivirus and the issues that cause the Unable to update the Minecraft Native Launcher error.

All the troubles you are going through with the Minecraft game application could be down to your antivirus overreaching by disrupting or interfering with Minecraft processes or components.

If you have never been told this then let us be the first to tell you. Antivirus software is hardly perfect.

Antivirus might have misconstrued or wrongly labeled Minecraft to be a malicious or harmful application. If this was done by a third-party antivirus you have on your PC, then it explains what it made against the game’s interests.

Some users have reported that antivirus blocks Minecraft’s connection to Mojang servers.

Well, to know the truth, you will need to disable your antivirus and test if things will work.

Thankfully, almost all antivirus vendors usually provide you with the means or options through which you can get to disable the security programs.

Follow these instructions to disable your antivirus:

  1. Hit the Windows button on the keyboard and the search for your antivirus.
  2. Open the antivirus software.
  3. Now navigate through to its settings menu sometimes called control center or options pane.
  4. Locate the option that allows you to disable your antivirus. If variants of the disable option exist – such as Disable for 10 minutes, Disable until computer is restarted, Disable permanently, and so on – then you will do well to select the Disable permanently option (for the best results).

If you may be the antivirus does not have the options which allow you to disable your antivirus, you will have to check for options that will at least force it to limit its activities. You can also change the parameters for the most important functions. Just turn off such options and parameters. In general, you must do what you can to reduce your antivirus’ capabilities for the time being.

  • After you have the changes, save those changes
  • Now close Minecraft and all the components that depend on it. To do this you will have to launch the Task Manager app by pressing Ctrl + Shift + Esc and then end all the running programs.
  • Afterward,  run Minecraft to see if the update operations now proceed as they should (without interruptions or setbacks).

If everything goes well, then you must take the turn of events as confirmation that your antivirus played some role in causing issues for you. You will then have to decide what becomes of your antivirus.

Solution 4: Add Minecraft to the whitelist in your antivirus; Create an exception for Minecraft:

By now we hope that you already know that the antivirus you had on your computer was the one responsible for all your struggles with the Minecraft launcher update. Now that you managed to continue running the app normally after doing the above fixes or after you put down the antivirus, you now need to add the Minecraft game app to the whitelist.

This is necessary because you cannot keep the antivirus software disabled forever. This makes sense that you need to make changes in order to mitigate the effect of the fix and preferably get a permanent solution.

What you are required to do is simply add Minecraft to the whitelist provided by your antivirus. The antivirus on the computer will ignore whitelist programs by default. If you put Minecraft or other apps in the whitelist, antivirus tends to ignore their processes, components, and services. Therefore, when you put Minecraft in the whitelist, your antivirus will no longer bother or disturb it.

The steps on how you can add applications to the whitelist can vary depending on the type of antivirus solution that your PC is using. However, we will try to provide you with a concrete description that can serve as the general procedure for adding programs to whitelists.

Adding Minecraft to whitelist

The steps below should give you some ideas on how you can add the Minecraft game app to the whitelist. Even though they might differ as per the antivirus, the difference is not that big:

  1. Open your antivirus.
  2. Go to the main dashboard, options menu, or settings pane.
  3. Find the whitelist option. This option might be named differently in your antivirus software. Just look out for anything similar. If you see an option called exceptions list, then you must click on it.
  4. Now, search for Minecraft and then select it and add it to the list of whitelisted applications. If possible, you can select and specify the entire Minecraft folder in which the game installation is or the directory from which Minecraft and its components run.
  5. Next, save the changes that you just made to your antivirus whitelist
  6. You can now enable your antivirus. You can also turn on the features or functions you disabled earlier to limit your antivirus activities.

Solution 5: Unistall the antivirus

If you find that the unable to update the Minecraft native launcher error still persists even after you just added the game application to the antivirus whitelist or created an exception for it, the other option is to uninstall the antivirus.

There are situations where you cannot get some antivirus software to operate on your PC without interfering with the processes used by other apps. When this happens, whether it is the best option, your antivirus has to be removed.

Browse through the Programs and Features menu in Control Panel and then initiate the uninstall process.

When the antivirus has been removed, simply restart your PC.

Remember to find a replacement for the antivirus when you remove it because you cannot leave your computer to function without a security utility. But if you are using Windows 10, you can update the Windows Defender utility, and it functions just fine.

We suggest that you get Auslogics Anti-Malware. It is a great protection utility program that will keep your computer safe from all forms of threat. The best thing about it is that it will not have any interference with other programs’ activities. Neither will it intefear with operations on your computer.

You might come to see this application as the ideal replacement for your antivirus. Considering the issue that compelled you to get rid of your antivirus in the first place, you should use it.

Solution 6: Run the program compatibility troubleshooter:

Windows usually come with a compatibility troubleshooter that you can run for every application. Using this feature, you can get to fix many problems that you might encounter while using your computer. Moreso issues with the launch.

The troubleshooter works the same way the standard troubleshooters in Windows function.

First, it will diagnose the problem and identify its source. Afterward, it moves on to apply some known solutions. It even suggests some procedures that you can follow to resolve the issue.

In this fix, you will run the compatibility troubleshooter program for Minecraft.

These instructions below cover everything that you need to do here:

  1. Tap the Windows logo button on your PC’s keyboard to get to the Windows Start menu. Then type Minecraft into the text box
  2. Once Minecraft Launcher (App) emerges right-click on it to see the list of available options.
  3. Now Select Open file location and then you will be directed to the Minecraft directory in a File Explorer window.
  4. Go through the items listed there and locate the Minecraft Launcher file. Right-click on it, and from the list of options that show up, select Troubleshoot compatibility.
  5. In the compatibility troubleshooter window, follow the on-screen instructions in order to perform the troubleshooting tasks.
  6. Click on Use the recommended compatibility setting. However, if you happen to be knowing the preferred compatibility settings for Minecraft Launcher simply specify the settings yourself.

If everything goes well, you will end with a fix to the Unable to update the Minecraft Native Launcher error. If it is unsuccessful, the troubleshooter will advise you to execute a specific operation to resolve the problem.

Solution 7: Reinstall Minecraft:

We are assuming that the Minecraft application on your PC is permanently broken. Therefore, in this fix, the only solution is to reinstall it.

First of all, you will have to remove or uninstall the Minecraft application completely. After that, perform a clean install of the game.

Follow these instructions:

  1. Press and hold Windows key + R on the keyboard to open the run dialog box
  2. Type appwiz.cpl into the text box there and then click on the OK button. You will then be directed to the Uninstall or change a program screen in the Control Panel application.
  3. Now, locate Minecraft,  right-click on it, and then select Uninstall. This will open the uninstaller or uninstallation wizard window for Minecraft
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions in order to remove Minecraft.
  5. Now, again hit the Windows button + R to open the Run app.
  6. Type in this command %Appdata% and then hit Enter to run the code.
  7. Now locate the Minecraft folder and then delete it.
  8. Close all the programs you had opened and then restart your computer.
  9. Open your preferred web browser app and then go to Minecraft’s website or download page.
  10. Download the Minecraft installer for the latest version of the game and run the downloaded package.
  11. Follow the on-screen prompts to install Minecraft.
  12. Run the installed program to confirm that the Unable to update the Minecraft Native Launcher error no longer comes up.
