How to Take iPhone/iPad Backup on iCloud

Backup of iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch is very necessary these days. We don’t want to lose any data such as photos,videos or any documents from our iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. Most of the people use iPhone on daily basis. There are tons of private photos, messages, chats, calls and documents on iPhone. It’s really important to take backup of iPhone from time to time. iCloud seems to be the perfect way to take iPhone backup without any hassle. It’s almost automatic.

iCloud backup is automatic. You just need to turn this feature on in your iPhone. It will take iPhone backup from time to time. It will save all recent photos, videos, songs and every other document, data and settings. You can restore this backup in case of any emergency or on your new iPhone. Backup is pretty much necessary if you want to sell iPhone or give it to anybody else in your family. You may want to format it and then give it or sell. However if you have taken backup then you can restore the backup on your new iPhone.

  1. Connect your iPhone to WiFi Network or Hotspot.
  2. Go to Settings >> Tap on your name >> Tap on “iCloud”.
  3. Tap iCloud Backup.
  4. If this feature is turned off for your phone then turn it ON now.
  5. Tap on “Backup Now“. It will take sometime depending upon your data. If you have never taken backup then it will take time.
  6. It will also show last successful backup at the bottom of backup now.

Automatic Backup iPhone on iCloud

You can take automatic iPhone/iPad backup on iCloud. You simply need to make sure that iCloud Back up option is enabled or turned ON all the time. It will continue to take backup at appropriate times. You don’t have to think about taking backup manually. Secondly it will take less time when you will do it manually just before giving or selling it away.

  1. Go to Settings >> Tap on your name >> Tap on “iCloud”.
  2. Tap iCloud Backup.
  3. Make sure it’s TURNED ON.
  4. iPhone will be backed up automatically on iCloud.
  5. iCloud offers free 5 GB storage. If you take a lot of pics and videos then you may want to increase the storage space on iCloud. You can take extra 50GB for $0.99 per month which is quite cheap than any other storage platforms online.
